“Authentic, lavish…
with romantic longing
only Celtic music can inspire”
Arlene Muzyka - percussion
“With the last name of Muzyka, how could I not be a
musician?”
Arlene Muzyka made her musical debut at the age of
four. After convincing her parents that
accordion was not her instrument of choice, she switched to keyboard and
voice.
She attended Montclair State University as a music major, and
continued her vocal studies with a principal soprano of the New York City
Opera.
She has sung with the New York choral
Society, Harmonium, and the Von Halstern Singers.
A recent convert to ethnic drumming, she currently performs with several
groups, including the Jodee James Band, The Generic Infidels and the Oscar
Lewis Group.
Arlene's other
passions include designing one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry, her husband,
their historic home, and their four cats. Arlene also works with at-risk
children, mentoring them in the arts.
Cady Finlayson - fiddle
From
her first show in a small pub in the U.S. Virgin Islands, to her Carnegie
Hall appearance in 2003, Cady Finlayson has brought her spirited Irish
fiddling to venues such as the Jacob Javits Center, Cleveland State Theatre,
Hofstra University and the Queens Museum of Art.
Cady’s recording credits include her “Shines Like Silver” CD (nominated for
best independent celtic instrumental album by JPFolks), the soundtrack to
Irish film, “Snakes and Ladders”, the “Peace on Earth Holiday Folk Tour with
Judy Collins” and her latest CD, Harp and Shamrock, available in November.
In
addition to fronting her own five-piece Irish band, Cady is also the fiddle
soloist for the Police Pipes and Drums of Bergen County. For more
